Here I am on my pillow mountain, dreaming of squirrels, cheese and my next adventure.

October 2006

Mom, David and I went to Oklahoma City to see the Memorial (click here to learn more about it)  Here are my pictures at the front fountain, the entry  and by the reflection pool.

All the displays was truly awesome and moving.  Each object and the way it is placed has special meaning.

The Chairs

The Children's Area

One of the gates has 9:01 engraved on it - the time when Oklahoma City was at peace, and the other has 9:03 - one minute after the time that forever changed us all.

The original wall that is still standing. The tree that survived and part of the wall of memories.

David at the wall of the adjoining building...

.. and in front of the Journal Record Building

This is a list of the survivors that runs along the wall that is still standing.

We came home through St. Louis and drove by the Arch but it was dark and we did not get out.  We will stop there another time.

David brought his GPS and we did not get lost!! Mom needs one so badly.....I hope she is going to get herself one for Christmas...

It was a good, but a long day, and I am a tired Shih Tzu..

Here I am helping Dave pack to go back to California.  Right after he left we had our first snow of the year; he missed it by only an hour!

The Festival of Trees in Davenport - November 19th

I thought Mom was taking me to Rome for the TOMKAT wedding, but we went to see the Davenport Festival of Trees instead.
Here I am in front of the Zoo Tree, made of stuffed toys -
Mom said it would be too much like "Looking for Waldo" if I wasn't on Grandma's lap.

Did you see me on the front page of the Gila Humane Society web site?  That's where my friends Jane and Tom live.  I am excited because I get to help my animal buddies who are waiting to be adopted into their "forever homes" like I was.

2007

My friend Lou DeMolli retired and moved to Florida, not too far from a place with a very large mouse - I went to both his retirement dinner and his cook-out.  Lou held cook outs every other week at work and his last one was in the snow!! Here I am with Lou saying good-bye.

The biggest snow storm of the year hit on the day we were to leave for Little Rock, so we will try for that adventure another time.  I can't wait to get on the road again!

...and we are off to visit John and Lynn in Minnesota on St. Patrick's Day..  I wore my new green collar... ....wait until you see Lynn's socks!!

Surprise.. Mom did get a GPS, just like Dave's, and we let it take us right to John and Lynn's doorstep and we never got lost..

When we got there I met up with their magical creature from last time... I thought I would get better acquainted and tried to make friends but I got bopped on the head!!  How humiliating was that??!!
John and Lynn help soothe my feelings...Lynn said I was to think of them as "Minnesota Squirrels".. That was something I could identify with!!

I took a "time out" and napped in a little bed I found.

Lynn wore St. Patrick's Day Socks - They had the same design but one was white and one was green.. What a funny woman!

John cooks!!  He had lots of cheese ready for me.

John's all-time favorite movie is Grumpy Old Men.  Here he is next to a plaque Lynn got him.
As always - John and Lynn were great and we had a relaxing time and hated to go home!  Thanks you two.. and keep the Minnesota Squirrels in line until I can get back to see you again!

The following Saturday was the Unity Auction.. I picked out what I wanted Mom to bid on. and I met three princesses..

Mom is trying to learn Illustrator.  I am her first art work!  Go Mom!!

This is the tune Mom has been singing to me..  now you can sign along too!

Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Keep them Shih Tzu movin'
Keep them Shih Tzu movin' Rawhide!
Don't try to understand 'em,
Just feed, and clip and comb 'em,
Soon we'll be living high and wide.
Move 'em on, groom 'em up,
Groom 'em up, comb 'em out,
Move 'em on, comb 'em out Rawhide!
Keep groomin', groomin', groomin'
Though they're disapprovin'
Keep them Shih Tzu groomin' Rawhide!
Don't try to understand 'em
Just bath, and clip, and comb 'em
Soon we'll be living high and wide.
Move 'em on, clip 'em up,
Clip 'em up, comb 'em out,
Move 'em on, comb 'em out Rawhide!

Here I am in my new Unity Christian School shirt!
I wore it at the open house in April.

Everything thinks I'm being a bad boy and had to put my nose in the corner.   Me being bad?  NEVER!  I just like the way it feels.  It's just a Shih Tzu thing.

It's June and lots of things going on, we took pictures of Unity's 2007 Graduation Class and here we are at our friend Kathy's house.  Her son Adam graduated too and we stopped by to say "congratulations" and have our picture taken with him.

This is my "may I please have some  cheese now" face!   You hate to beg but some things are worth it!

More fun things in June!

Mom took me to the "Reed Family Reunion" to meet more cousins.

There were over 50 cousins there and I got to meet a lot of them. Sherry also celebrated her birthday!  There was lots of conversation, good food and cake!!

Mom and I are planning a long car ride in September to tour Illinois to see the World's Largest Catsup Bottle, Superman, Popeye and the White Squirrels.  This state has a lot of interesting stuff to see!  I think the squirrels will be my favorite, don't you?.  I think we may have to add another page - this one is getting long...  Click here to go to page 3 for more adventures and travel between now and September and page 4 for the September trip.
