Here we are into 2008.  The winter has been long and cold and the snow very deep for little dogs like myself so Mom and I have stayed home a lot!. We are just getting back into out walks along the dike and watching for the birds and squirrels.  The eagles are gone but the pelicans and ducks have arrived and the river is full of different birds on their way home for the summer.  AND, everyone with a dog is on the dike..  so many things to see and sniff!

In March, Mom and I attended the Iron Sharpens Iron Conference in Rockford.  We took pictures for our friend Roy Abbott, of Focal Point Ministries.  Roy's ministry is sponsoring three major conferences this year and they are awesome.  I got to meet lots of people and want to thank everyone for making me feel so welcome!. Here I am meeting the ladies who work in the bookstore of the church where the conference was held.  It is a really big place.

There were over 600 men and boys at the conference, what a very busy day!!

This is Roy on stage opening the conference.

Here are a few more pictures of the conference.

Later in March, Dan went to Hawaii and got married to a lovely woman named Laurie  Mom tried to stow-a-way and go but since I cannot get into Hawaii without time spent in quarantine, (does not sound like a good time for me!!)  we waited and went to the "Open House" when they got back..  Here are some pictures of the happy couple, their families and of me too.

Dan and I wear matching bow-ties!!

This is Tabitha and Troy.  They are Laurie's children and two new friends!!.  We all look so very nice in our formal attire!

Tabitha and I relax on the church steps before the open house..

Here I am with Elijah.  He and I are buddies.

On Saturday, April 19th, Mom and I went to the Open House at Unity Christian School, They are still offering great scholarships for new families and we are going to go and welcome new prospective students.  I always have a good time with the kids!

I looked around the school bus before we started the day.

Here I am in my Unity t-shirt, I like to dress up for the kids.

Mom also made a name tag for me to wear on my shirt.

These are some of the teachers and parents at the Unity Elementary.

I got to welcome some new kids and I hope to see them again when they come to Unity next year.

I also greet parents who work hard to make the open house a success.

Mom and I join "findagrave.com"

Mom and I volunteered to take photos of headstones  for "Find A Grave" web site.   Here I am on our first venture... the "Hawk" family plot.  We walked up and down the hills a little over an hour checking some really old graves and found what we were looking for almost back at the beginning!  Good exercise for Mom and me!!

A couple of short trips:

Grandma went into full retirement and is living at a really cool place.  They had an outdoor BB-Q "Round-Up" and we all wore western hats and scarves.  (She is also playing a lot of BINGO and wins!)

Here is her room.
Strawberry Point, IA
Joyce came with us to see the largest strawberry in Iowa at Strawberry Point.  Wow, that is big!!

We joined the Navy for the afternoon.

The USS LST 325 docked in Clinton for a couple of days and we walked around to look it over.  It served during WWII and took three years to build.  It's home-port is Evansville, Ind.
